school...

Oh lord where do I start with this subject. I hate school yet I want to teach, crazy right?! Actually I don't hate school, I used to while I was in high school. I got burned out on college after two years. Well that one semester break after I had Miss Mady has turned into a TWO YEAR break. Its not so easy getting back in as I thought it would be. If its not one thing, its another. Im really really really looking forward to going back. However, its going to be really really hard. I have some student loans from school before, you know because I'm dumb and lost the majority of my scholarships. I cant reapply for loans, grants, scholarships, etc until those other loans are paid off...So thats about two grand down the drain. Literally. That $2,000 is going towards classes I slept through, good idea huh? Its tax time of the year which is perfect for paying that loan off....in the perfect world. See, I have this gem of a vehicle that wont pass emissions (which in sumner county you have to get done before you can renew your tags). Austin tried to fix it, well what we thought it was....yep, you guessed it, that wasnt it. So my car is still messed up, my tags are expired and I got pulled over for thus said expired tags. Now my tax money has to go to fix that FIRST. As long as it doesnt put off school, I dont mind. But the possibility of it pushing school again is killing me. I need want to go back, so bad. I want to be able to tell Mady one day that I still did something with my life after having her at such a young age. I'm ready for school to be done with. I'm ready for a real job, you know monday thru friday, set hours (kinda), being with her after school and on weekends. Not having to work horrible retail hours. I'm ready for a place of my own. My parents have been great and all, but I'm tired of living at home and having to depend on them (im sure they're tired of it too, haha). Im ready to actually be studious. I'm not going to be afraid to ask for help with my math this time around, third time's the charm right? I want to be able to go to school everyday, and have a job, and see Mady and Austin loads on the meantime. Its going to be hard, I'm not going to like it, but all in all I'M READY!

Bless...

If you know me or have ever been around me, you would know that I say "Bless" like its going out of style. Not purposely, almost like its become a habit. I'm Southern, I'm always blessing someone's heart. haha. Its common, check out the video...

But thats not the point of the blog....
Have you ever felt truly blessed? Like you just wake up one day and think to yourself "wow, how did I manage to be blessed with all of this?" I have an amazing family, a great daughter, a fantastic boyfriend, fabulous friends, the best church family anyone could ask for, a good job, and the opportunity to go to college (im working on that btw, lol). How did lil ole me who has made as many bad choices as the next person become so richly blessed with all these things? Faith, maybe? Maybe God really does have some HUGE plan for me? Im not sure of His plan, I'm not sure what tomorrow may hold. All I know is right now, I am so incredibly blessed that I dont want it to ever change....
P.S. Did you know that the word "Bless" is used more than 300 times in the Bible. Maybe God is Southern afterall...haha
Have a Blessed Day Y'all :)

So, there's this boy....

Who totally and completely takes my breath away. Cheesy much? meh, it happens. haha. For real though, best thing to happen to me. NO ONE has made me feel like this. I miss him so so much when he's not around, and I believe Mady does too. He and I agree on how to discipline Mady, and although he may or may not (I hope he is!) be around in the long run its so much easier that we have the same outlook on things. He is kickin my butt to get back in school. Its gonna really suck to cut down on our time together, but we both know its for the best. He makes me want to strive to better things, not only for Mady and myself, but for our lil possible family. haha. I feel like I can talk to him about anything. Although we make fun of each other, I know he genuinely listens to everything. He has become my best friend. Which is what you look for in a partner, right? He makes me happy too. Which is the best part in my opinion. Its like no matter how bad of a day I can have, he can turn it around in no time. You know how else I know he's a keeper? He's changed Madys diaper, haha. If you havent been around Mady, its a big deal. She's pretty stinky sometimes. lmbo. He spoils Mady so much, but I dont mind as long as he keeps spoiling me too. lol. I pray almost daily that things keep going the way they are for mine and Madys sake. Selfishly, more so mine. I want to keep him for always :)

"'Cause if you wanna go
Baby, let's go
If you wanna rock,
I'm ready to roll
And if you wanna slow down,
We can slow down together
If you wanna walk,
Baby, let's walk
Have a little kiss,
Have a little talk
We don't gotta leave at all
We can stay here forever
Lay here forever, oh
Let's stay here forever, oh"
-Stay Here Forever by Jewel

I really want him to stay around forever, hopefully he will. But as you know only time can tell :)

P.S. This blog totally doesnt do justice to how I feel about Austin, or how awesome he really is, but I told him I was going to blog about him and he didnt believe me. So ha! lol

woah!

What I'm actually blogging?!? Shocker, I know. Its only been a few months, and honestly my other blogs are pretty lame, right? haha. I dont know how well written this one will be either because Im kind of watching the BCS National Championship also. Oregon v Auburn. Im in no way shape or form an Auburn fan, however I am an SEC fan...So they better win! Anyways you want a three month recap? OK! I'll keep it short and sweet...

OCTOBER!
I dont remember a heck of a lot...Austin and I did take Miss Mady to a pumpkin patch! It was so hot and sticky that day, but we all had a blast. Even more fun when we carved our pumpkins :) Then Halloween came around. Let me tell you, Mady made the cutest Lil' Red Riding Hood ever. lol

NOVEMBER!
All stinkin month I was looking forward to going to Tampa, FL with Austin and his parents for Thanksgiving. I was excited yet nervous that his extended family wanted to meet Mady and I. Well needless to say, we ended up not going. Mady got terribly sick so she and I had to come home. I was super bummed but felt bad for my little one. My mom was pretty excited that we were gonna be there for Thanksgiving dinner. Then Mady was gracious enough to pass her virus on to the rest of us. Not so much fun....

DECEMBER!
The hap-happiest time of the year! I love the Christmas season for so many reasons. All the joyful people, the hustle and bussle, seeing family, snow, etc. This year was very special. My whole family was here! I liked it and all for about an hour. 14 people in a house with ONE bathroom equals no bueno. I did really enjoy Austin being here on Christmas morning to see Mady open her gifts. She was precious by the way....Oh and I almost forgot, I SAW THE ROCKETTES! I've always wanted to see them and it was spectacular! I want to go every year, and I'm going to make Austin and Mady go next year :)

I realize that I have talked about Austin alot, but he has become a pretty big part of my life. I've been dating him since May and Mady adores him (ok maybe i do too...lol). He is so good to both of us. He takes us out all the time and buys Mady way more toys than she needs. haha. Honestly, he's the second best thing to happen to me (you know because Mady is THE best thing). He treats her as if she was his own, and I couldnt ask for anything more. You know how people say good things fall apart so better things can fall in place...well this is that better. I believe we were brought together by fate and I hope this is the "real deal" but only time can tell that :)
On to Miss Mady, my lil terror. haha. She is almost two! Well the end of April may seem like its far away to you, but it really isnt! I think I've decided on what her party is going to be already. lol. She is growing like a weed, talking so much now, and of course she's the smartest baby ever! haha. Although she doesnt like it when I call her a baby. Soon I will need to start potty training, getting rid of the pacifier (or 'baby' as she calls it), and transforming her baby room into a toddler room. Lord help us through all of that. haha.
I hope you all are now caught up on Mady and Me. I promise not to let another three to four months slip by before I post again.
God Bless you all :)

Southern by the Grace of God.

"A SOUTHERN WILL TALK TO YOU LIKE THEY'VE KNOWN YOU ALL THEIR LIVES. WE SOUTHERNS ARE FRIENDLY, CHARMING, QUICK TO SMILE AND HAVE A WONDERFUL SENSE OF HUMOR."

"IF HEAVEN AINT A LOT LIKE DIXIE, THEN I DONT WANNA GO."

Amen! :) haha. I am told that i have a very thick southern "accent" or as I like to say, twang. I was born into an Appalachian family in the foothills of the Smokies. So yeah, I shouldnt talk any other way. [supposively i say "Bless" alot which is a southern term ha]. For amusement purposes, here's a lil bit of Southern for ya.

Enjoy.

SAYINGS.

A good attitude is like Kudzu - it spreads.
Wild as a peach orchard hog.
So buck toothed he could eat corn-on-the-cob through a key hole.
Slick as an eel.
Slicker than a chased greased hog.
Full as a tick.
Fat as a tub o lard.
Ol' boy's tough as whit leather.
He ran like a scalded dog.
Rough as a cob.
Just as happy as if he had good sense.
Cold as a well digger's tail.
So dull he couldn't cut hot butter with a knife.
Crazier than a run over dog.
Tougher than a one eared alley cat.
Scared my mule ( when something really startled them )
Faster than greased lightning.
Better than snuff, ain't half as dusty.
She's limber as a dishrag.
Nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full o' rocking chairs.
So ugly she'd run a dog off a meat wagon.
Took off like Moody's goose.
As scarce as hen's teeth.
Purty as a speckled pup.
Sorry as a two dollar watch.
Plumb tuckered out.
Older than the mountains and got twice as much dust.
That's a gracious plenty ( when being offered something)
In all my born days. . .

how to speak southern.
(i just picked a few...)

Afar: In a state of combustion. "Call the far department. That house is afar."

Best: Another baffling Southernism that is usually couched in the negative. "You best not speak to Bob about his car. He just had to spend $300 on it."

Fetchin': Attractive. "That's a mighty fetchin' woman. Think I'll ask her to daints."

Fixin' to: About to. "I'm fixin' to go to the store."

Hush yo' mouth: An expression of pleased embarrassment, as when a Southern female is paid an extravagant compliment. "Honey, you're 'bout the sweetest, best-lookin' woman in Tennessee. Now hush yo' mouth, Jim Bob."

Ill: Angry, testy. "What's wrong with Molly today? She's ill as a hornet."

Pick at: To pester and annoy. "Jimmy, Ah told you not to pick at your little sister."

Sass: Another Elizabethan term derived from the word saucy, meaning to speak in an impertinent manner. "Don't sass me, young lady. You're not too old to get a whippin'."

Supper: The evening meal Southererners are having while Yankees are having dinner. "What's for supper, honey?

Wear out: An expression used to describe a highly-effective method of behavior modification in children. "When Ah get ahold of that boy, Ah'm gonna wear him out."

Yungins: Also spelled younguns, meaning young ones. "Ah want all you yungins in bed in five minutes."

GOD BLESS :)

fallllll:)

This is absolutely 100% my favorite season of all. FALL! I love the leaves changing colors, football, the decorating, the smell of autumn, bonfires with amazing friends, my list could go on and on. Something about this time of year makes me so so thankful, maybe because thanksgiving is around the corner? Nevertheless, I cant see how someone can look outside at all the colors and not blieve there is a God. I am looking forward to taking Mady to a pumpkin patch or two this year. She's old enough to pick and pumpkin and have fun. I excited! I also cant wait for Halloween. I dont dress up, but Mady will be the cutest thing ever, of course. I cant wait until out annual trip to the mountains just to get a family ornament and enjoy the colors of fall. Or the fact that I am hopefully going to Georgia to visit some of Austin's family with him this fall, which should be exciting :) Life just seems to get a thousand times better this time of year, I dont know why exactly but I'm going to enjoy it while I can....
